2020 Clean Up Australia Day

Excited volunteers from the Muslim Women’s Welfare of Australia (MWWA) joined by a member of the public participated in Clean Up Australia Day on the 1/03/2020. The group consisting of ten adults and a 10 year old child, removed rubbish including glass pieces, cans, plastic bags and wood pieces, etc... from Dunbier Park, a popular family area within Liverpool.

President Faten El Dana OAM emphasised the importance of maintaining family areas such as Dunbier Park to ensure that children are safe while playing and simultaneously educating them on the importance of community pride and environmental awareness. “Ensuring that Australia is clean is not an individual responsibility but a community responsibility. It only takes a few people for real change to happen”.
