Women's Health Matters Symposium.

On Friday 13th September 2024, the Women's Health Research Theme and Xi Omicron Chapter at- Large held a Women's Health Matters Symposium with the focus "Invest in women: Accelerate progress".

MWWA President, hajjah Faten El Dana was among the guest speakers which included Trish Doyle, member of the Legislative Assembly NSW and Member for Blue Mountains, Denele Crozier, Chief Executive Officer for NSW Women's Health, Elizabeth Oloruntola, visiting scholar from University of Ibadan, Nigeria, a women who shared her story of domestic and family violence. The event was well attended by academics, clinicians and students from Australia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, India and Nepal.

Hajjah Faten was requested to speak about the work she does to support women in the community . Her presentation was titled : Taking Control of Our Health and Wellbeing: Empowering Muslim Women to Play their role.

She spoke passionately about her work supporting women in the community, highlighting the various programs she’s involved in. From mentorship initiatives to workshops on various health topics, she emphasized the importance of empowering women to achieve their goals. It was clear that her dedication was not just about addressing immediate needs but also about bringing about lasting change.

في يوم الجمعة 13 أيلول سبتمبر 2024، عقدت جامعة غرب سدني وبالتعاون مع قسم Xi Omicron ندوة حول صحة المرأة مع التركيز على دعم المرأة: تسريع التقدم". وقد كانت رئيسة جمعية رعاية المرأة في استراليا الحاجة فاتن الدنا من بين المتحدثين الضيوف إضافة الى تريش دويل ; عضو المجلس النيابي لولاية نيو ساوث ويلز والنائب عن بلو ماونتنز، ودينيل كروزير ; الرئيس التنفيذي لصحة المرأة في نيو ساوث ويلز، وإليزابيث أولورونتولا ; باحثة زائرة من جامعة إبادان في نيجيريا، وكذلك إحدى النساء التي شاركت قصتها عن العنف المنزلي والأسري. حضر الحدث عدد كبير من الأكاديميين والأطباء والطلاب من أستراليا ونيوزيلندا ونيجيريا وهونج كونج وإندونيسيا وتايوان وفيتنام والهند ونيبال.

وقد طُلب من الحاجة فاتن التحدث عن العمل الذي تقوم به لدعم المرأة في المجتمع. وكان عنوان كلمتها : أهمية صحتنا ورفاهتنا: تمكين المرأة المسلمة من لعب دورها. .

تحدثت الحاجة فاتن بشغف عن عملها في دعم المرأة في المجتمع، وسلطت الضوء على البرامج المختلفة التي شاركت فيها، من مبادرات الإرشاد إلى ورش العمل حول مواضيع صحية مختلفة، أكدت على أهمية تمكين المرأة لتحقيق أهدافها. كان من الواضح أن عملها الدؤوب لم يكن فقط لمعالجة الاحتياجات الفورية ولكن أيضًا لإحداث تغيير دائم.
