The Muslim Women's Welfare of Australia's empowering Resume Writing and Canva Design Workshop was a resounding success! Led by industry experts, the workshop guided our amazing participants through the art of crafting impactful resumes that truly showcase their skills and accomplishments. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting your career journey, the insights shared were invaluable.
HR Consultant Sandy Al-Aweik started the workshop with a discussion of understanding modern resume trends and common mistakes. The attendees had a chance to work on dot-points of their own resume and compare it to exemplary samples. The event was an extra special one for MWWA as the president Hajji Faten El Dana graced us with her presence. The women were delighted to have her and requested to hear a word of advice. Hajji Faten spoke about the relevance of education in a woman’s life and that workshops like these strive to push women towards excellence.
The second part of the workshop was led by computer science and systems engineer Zeina Demyati who shared an interactive live demo of Canva and how to use it to design a resume and other graphic material. Using their laptops and smartphones the women participated live by designing on the app and seeking support from Zeina who worked amazingly with all the women!
"Grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow with like-minded women. Thank you, MWWA, for organizing
this enriching event!" - A Happy Participant
We're proud to be a platform that fosters growth and empowerment for Muslim women in Australia. This workshop was just the beginning of our ‘Women’s Skills Workshops’ series! Stay tuned for more events that uplift and inspire.
We would like to thank our friend Mazena for taking the time to cover MWWA's latest event which was held on Saturday the 12th of August 2023. Sister Mazena volunteered her services during the event to interview some of the participants who expressed their delight for partaking in the first of four MWWA workshops during which they learnt how to perfect their resume writing and how to use Canva program. The ladies also found the workshop to be beneficial and they expressed their interest in attending the next one on the 16th of September.
Hajjah Faten El Dana OAM, briefly discussed the aim of the first workshop and how it benefited the ladies participants. She reiterated that MWWA members are always happy to follow up with anyone of the women if they need extra assistance at anytime after the workshop, and concluded by reminding everyone to keep an eye on the MWWA facebook to get uploaded details about the next workshop.
Once again, thank you to sister Mazena for covering this event. It was much appreciated.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and made this event a memorable one. Let's continue supporting each other in our career journeys!
